Do You Remember... TV Game Shows

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Tonight while channel surfing, Paula and I stopped to watch The Million Dollar Password with Regis Phibin as the host.  Besides the different host and the amount of money, the game was played pretty much the same.  Guest celebrities matched up with regular folks to form the team.

I remember once when I was playing at my friend's (Brian) house, I saw his sister watching TV with a big Hitachi fan box blocking the bottom portion of the TV.  I had to go over to the sliding screen doors to check it out.  She was watching Password and used the box to block the answer on the bottom of the screen - so she could play along.  Pretty ingenious I thought.  Paula said she just used to turn her head and listen to the clues to try and guess the word.  And yes, she was doing it tonight too.

Then it got me thinking of all the old games shows I used to watch on network TV back in the day.

Let's Make A Deal immediately came to mind.  It was so entertaining to watch the fools hopeful contestants dressed up in wacky contumes.  And I always couldn't wait to see the booby prizes behind the huge doors or the big gift wrapped boxes.  Do you recall who was the Vanna White of Let's Make A Deal?

Do these videos bring back some memories?
