Do You Remember... TV Series Shows
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009If you haven't heard by now, KGMB and KHNL/K-5 have a merger in the works. Fortunately, none of them will be changing the programming on each station. After all, how could we do without either the CBS and/or NBC networks.
And this news got me thinking of TV shows that I used to watch.
There was a period in the early 80's that I worked a swing shift and was pretty much removed from TV. Those are what I call my "blank" years.
But after I got married and settled down, Paula and I started getting hooked on "series" shows. Remember Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and LA Law. All series shows that we had to watch every week to keep up on what's going on. Back then we didn't have VCRs or DVRs so our schedule revolved around TV programming.

Other shows that we kept up with was Moonlighting with Cybil Shepard and Bruce Willis. And Remington Steele (I think Paula had a crush on Pierce Brosnan - but what girl didn't).

When I was going through the "yuppie" phase, Thirtysomething was the show that I was hooked on.

And how could I not mention - the MLC all-time favorite - The Wonder Years

The Wonder Years
I used to love watching The Wonder Years. Not just because Winnie Cooper was a little cutie, but seeing all the old cars and appliances and clothing. And the writers worked into the show, events that were going on at the time such as the Vietnam war, Women's Lib, and the Equal Rights Movement. And the soundtrack that they used in the show. The music of the 60's.
What TV "series" shows were you hooked on? Did you have to watch the popular ones just so you'd be able to keep up with the conversation in the lunchroom? Were there certain series shows that you used to watch just because (because you thought the character was cute)? Maybe later we'll visit old "sitcoms".
