Another classic song - Paradise by the Dashboard Light - butchered by a lame commercial for ATT’s Go Phone.

Whoa, as I was researching this video to see how Meatloaf would sell out this classic song, I learn that that actually is Meatloaf playing the part of the father in the commercial? And the mother is played by Tiffany - a has been pop singer. The overweight son is Adam Cagley - whoever that is.
At least here in Hawaii, only the shorter version of the commercial is shown.
But why?!? A classic - butchered for a pay-as-you-go phone!
I say he (Meatloaf) sold out. What do you think?

Sounds like Meatloaf has a sense of humor. Thought the overweight son was the best part of the commercial. I dunno, son reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite.

I kinda seen this commercial a few times but neva recagnotice. Not a huge Meatloaf fan so I didn’t know it was him without the long, sweaty hair. My co-worker is a fan so he liked the commercial.

Hey Shauna! I thought Meatloaf would be too “before your time”.
I don’t know many Meatloaf songs, just the classic Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad. But like Coconut Willy said, I too didn’t recognize him in the commercial without his long sweaty hair.

yeah….I seen this commercial. I knew that was him. I think because I seen him acting in some movies and TV too. But I didn’t know who the mom and son were.
I remember this classic vid too.

I agree with hemajang. Meat Loaf (correct spelling by the way) has gotta have a crazy sense of humor to even just call himself that. He must have had fun with making that commercial.
Sold out? I dunno, don’t think so.

Yeah, my lunch buds echoed your sentiments too. Meat Loaf (corrected spelling) is known for his theatrics so a parody like this Go Phone one - even if he’s making fun on his own song - is somewhat typical of him. At least he got to star in his own parody.
But still - it’s a classic song!
But I’ll get over it.

Funny you mentioned this commercial - I was just talking to my husband about it the other day, wondering if that boy was Meatloaf’s son in real life (guess not, eh?). Didn’t know that was Tiffany, too.
I was never a huge Meatloaf fan, but I did like his more popular songs. I give him credit for being different. I dunno, I like the commercial - I like that he has a sense of humor and doesn’t take himself too seriously to do something like that.
